Swing Dance發展到1940年代，二次世界大戰爆發，許多美國的樂手、舞者都參戰了，因此二次大戰有許多美國的軍歌爵士樂，在二次大戰期間，美國大兵們到歐洲打仗，意外將爵士樂及舞蹈傳到了歐洲大陸，就連納粹德國都有爵士樂。

德陽艦是二戰時期美製的軍艦，於1945-1959年間服役於美國海軍，後續覆議於台灣海軍至2005年，目前也是台灣唯一一艘軍艦博物館，因而日舞台南舉辦Swing Dance舞會，讓舞者們及民眾走進時光隧道，回到過去，在學習舞蹈的同時，也了解爵士樂、Swing Dance舞蹈的歷史。

World War II was an opportunity to change the destiny of swing dance in the 1940s. Most of the Jazz musicians and swing dancers joined the war, that led Jazz influenced the military music during that period. Jazz music became the major music scenes in WWII. Nazi Germany also had swing jazz band.

Te Yang NAVY Destroyer was active service in the US NAVY during World War II from 1945 to 1959. After completion of the mission, it shifted its service in Taiwanese NAVY until 2005. It is the only warship museum existing in Taiwan today. Therefore, Sundance Tainan was collaborate with the museum for vintage swing dance party. Swing dancers includes Tainan citizens went back to the past and feel like passing though time tunnel. At the same time, we try to approach swing dance and jazz music's history.
